Day 1: Journey into the Great Maasai Mara
Depart early morning from Nairobi, descending through the Great Rift Valley escarpment into the world-famous Maasai Mara National Reserve. Arrive in time for lunch, followed by an afternoon game tracking drive across golden savannahs in search of lion prides, cheetahs, and vast herds of plains game.
Day 2: Full-Day Maasai Mara Deep Savannah Exploration
Spend a full day exploring the endless plains of the Mara. Head to the Mara River to view basking crocodiles and hippo pods, track elusive leopards in the acacia thickets, and enjoy a picnic lunch in the wild. Conclude your day with an optional sunrise hot air balloon safari or an authentic Maasai village visit.
Day 3: Sunrise Game Drive & Overland Transfer to Tsavo West
Savor a final early morning sunrise game drive in the Mara before embarking on a scenic overland transfer southeast across southern Kenya. Journey towards the volcanic hills and acacia woodlands of Tsavo West National Park, arriving at your lodge in the late afternoon.
Day 4: Tsavo West Mzima Springs & Shetani Lava Flow
Discover Tsavo West's unique geology. Walk to Mzima Springs to view hippos and fish swimming underwater from the sunken glass observatory chamber, and traverse the 200-year-old black obsidian rocks of the Shetani Lava Flow. Proceed across into Tsavo East National Park for an evening game drive among dust-red elephants.
Day 5: Tsavo East Red Dust Trail & Coastal Transfer to Bamburi
Enjoy a morning game drive in Tsavo East, tracking red elephants bathing along the Galana River and spotting wildlife near Mudanda Rock. Exit the park after lunch and transfer down to the North Coast, check into your beachfront resort on Bamburi Beach, and unwind beside the warm waters of the Indian Ocean.
Day 6: Bamburi Beach Ocean Relaxation & Coastal Explorations
Spend a full leisure day on the white sands of Bamburi Beach. Enjoy swimming in reef-protected waters, sample fresh local Swahili seafood, or take optional water sports excursions, glass-bottom boat tours to the Mombasa Marine Reserve, or visits to nearby Haller Park wildlife sanctuary.
Day 7: Bamburi Beach Morning & SGR Train Express Return to Nairobi
Enjoy a final seaside morning and breakfast. Transfer to the Mombasa Miritini SGR Terminus to board the scenic Madaraka Express SGR train back to Nairobi. Enjoy views of Tsavo's wildlife from your train window before arriving in Nairobi in the afternoon for your outbound flights.
